Our favorite Upper East Sider is returning to the small screen five years after Gossip Girl ended its six-season run.
That’s right, Leighton Meester will play Angie in ABC’s brand-new comedy series Single Parents. This will be her first TV role since she starred as Blair Waldorf on the hit CW show, and, uh, it’s about damn time.
The new series will follow a group of single parents (duh) as they raise their 7-year-old kids and pursue romantic relationships, according to Variety.
Single Parents also stars Taran Killam (Saturday Night Live), Kimrie Lewis (Scandal), Tyler Wladis (A Christmas Story Live) and Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond). The show is being led by series creator Liz Meriwether (New Girl), writer J.J. Philbin (The O.C.) and director Jason Winer (Modern Family).
No word on when Single Parents will premiere on ABC. In the meantime, we’ll be crossing our fingers for a Chuck Bass cameo.
