Having poindexter-induced anxiety over the Big Bang Theory’s season ten finale? Have no fear. CBS has ordered a straight-to-series prequel called Young Sheldon, and the genius idea originated from someone who has a real-life connection to the new show’s high IQ star, Jim Parsons.

Earlier this week, Parsons popped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and revealed the BBT spin-off series was inspired by his unduly intelligent nephew, who sounds, well, like an IRL version of the Caltech theoretical physicist we all know and love. Parsons channeled his nephew's parallel life to bring us Young Sheldon, the untold story of a nine-year-old prodigy navigating high school, first crushes and testosterone.

Young Sheldon premieres on CBS this fall.
