How Princess Diana’s Family Will Be Involved in the Royal Wedding

Hordes of white garden roses aren’t the only way Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to pay tribute to Princess Diana during their May 19 wedding.

Kensington Palace released a statement revealing that all three of the late princess’s siblings, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Lady Jane Fellowes and Earl Charles Spencer, will play an important role in the royal couple’s big day. (Don’t worry, Charlotte. They won’t steal your thunder.)

According to the statement, “Lady Jane Fellowes will give the reading. Prince Harry and Ms. Markle both feel honoured that Lady Jane will be representing her family and helping to celebrate the memory of the late Princess on the wedding day.”

Lady Jane last spoke publicly at her sister’s funeral more than 20 years ago and has remained relatively out of the limelight since then. She has reportedly been working alongside Harry with Only Connect, a charity that aims to decrease youth crime.

No further details about the rest of the Spencer family’s involvement have been released.

Anyone else wondering whether Prince George was an official contender to do the reading? (With $23,000 a year school tuition, we assume he already reads at an adult level.)

Just 12 more days.*Squee*
