Throw your bonnets in the air like you just don’t care because famed The Handmaid’s Tale author Margaret Atwood has her eye on rapper (and fellow Canadian) Drake for a little HMT cameo.
The controversial author told the Boston Review she’s interested in one dance inviting Drake to the Gilead set not because of his phenomenal acting on Degrassi (poor Jimmy), but because of his influence in their native Canada. Atwood said she's been told numerous times that she and Drake are two of Canada's finest exports (agreed), so why shouldn’t they collaborate?
And since she’s not one to regularly sip on gin and juice and mingle with the Grammy award-winning likes of Drake, Atwood conceded it would be slightly more organic to run the idea of a cameo past HMT show runner Bruce Miller as opposed to bumping into the rapper at a party. Hulu’s breakout hit does film in Drake’s home city, Toronto, and the second season is bound to start shooting soon. Just sayin’, Drake.
We call dibs on becoming the first ever Ofdrake. May the hotline bling open.
