Welp, Warner Bros. confirmed what Johnny Galecki totally saw coming.
The studio just revealed that The Big Bang Theory will come to an end after season 12. Bazinga…sigh.
The studio announced the news in a joint statement with CBS, saying, “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
If you’re thinking this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. The cast and crew have been vocal about the show coming to an end in the near future. In 2017, Galecki admitted that 12 seasons seemed like a good fit, saying, “But I think at this point everyone’s very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families.”
We’re in no way prepared for this. Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory will premiere on Monday, September 24, on CBS.
