Queen Elizabeth Pens a Personal Congratulations to US Open Champion Emma Raducanu on Instagram

It's been a pretty exciting week for tennis player Emma Raducanu.

The 18-year-old Brit was just crowned the US Open champion, becoming the youngest female Grand Slam champion since 17-year-old Maria Sharapova won the same title at Wimbledon in 2004. According to ESPN, Raducanu is also “the first woman to win the US Open title without dropping a set since Serena Williams in 2014.” The last British woman to win a Grand Slam singles trophy was Virginia Wade all the way back in 1977.

While Raducanu is smashing records, she's also getting some royal praise, including a personal message of congratulations from the queen herself. The note was shared to the royal family Instagram account, where Queen Elizabeth II said, “I send my congratulations to you on your success in winning the United States Open Tennis Championships. It is a remarkable achievement at such a young age, and is testament to your hard work and dedication.”

Her Royal Majesty continued, saying, “I have no doubt your outstanding performance, and that of your opponent Leylah Fernandez, will inspire the next generation of tennis players. I send my warmest good wishes to you and your many supporters.” She signed the message “Elizabeth R,” which is the signature she's been using on all of her personally-written captions recently.

But Queen Elizabeth isn't the only royal sports fan. Raducanu also received a personal message from Kate Middleton, who posted snaps of the tennis champ on her shared Instagram account with Prince William and said, “Huge congratulations @EmmaRaducanu on your stunning performances and historic Grand Slam victory! Incredible –we are all so proud of you. @LeylaHannietennis well done on your amazing achievements at this year’s #USOpen, it’s been a pleasure to watch.” We know that this message was written by the Duchess of Cambridge because she signed the message with a “C.”

Finally, Sarah Ferguson also shared some pics of the young tennis star and she wrote, “Sportsmanship and magical inspiration. Thank you and well done @emmaraducanu @usopen.”

Personal messages from three royals? Not too shabby. Congrats, Emma Raducanu!
