This is not a drill: A second season of Big Little Lies might actually happen.
Ready. Set. Here's everything we know.
Amid the show's finale, executive producers Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman, as well as co-star Laura Dern, expressed their interest in coming back for another season of the HBO hit drama. Darling Reese even recorded a Facebook Live segment, spilling that the producers were speaking with Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty about the possibility of season two. Witherspoon encouraged fans to reach out to Moriarty on Facebook asking for more juicy material, and that they did. Big time.
In light of all the hullabaloo, Moriarty sat down with The Sydney Morning Herald, and said she kind of...sort of...not really started working on BLL season two. “The producers have asked me to see if I can come up with some ideas. I wouldn't write a new book but perhaps a new story, and then we'll see what happens,” she said. We don’t know whether to sigh with relief or stomp our feet in frustration.
Moriarty went on to say she's interested in further exploring Bonnie and Celeste as characters (same, Liane, same).
Though a second season isn't a sure thing (the cast and crew need to make time in their schedules), things are looking pretty, pretty good. For now, back to our BLL Spotify playlist.
