Go ahead and download your countdown calendar app, because hot on the heels of the exciting Wonder Woman sequel news announced earlier this week, we now have an official release date!
Warner Bros. announced today that Gal Gadot will return to the big screen in all her star-spangled glory for Wonder Woman 2 on November 1, 2019. You know, a mere one and a half years from now. Sigh.
Patty Jenkins, who directed the first film, is rumored to return to her throne for WW's sophomore follow-up, but her attachment isn't 100 percent confirmed yet. The baller Jenkins made headlines when she broke the record for highest-grossing live-action film ever directed by a female last month, so it kinda seems like it'd be in the studio's interest to invite her back.
Wonder Woman is currently still holding strong and sitting pretty at her top-box-office spot. Thus far, the film has grossed more than $389 million domestically and has been heralded as the most successful film of the summer.
We've never been more enthused about waiting for Gadot.
