No one wants to be that girl who blinks and misses the lunar event of the summer. So if you’re wondering when (and why) you should get a glimpse of tonight’s Flower Moon, we’ve got you covered.
What is it? “Flower Moon” is a fancy name for May’s full moon. The term is derived from the wildflowers the month typically brings. (Duh.)
When is the best time to see the moon? Well, it already reached its peak earlier this morning at 10:20 a.m. ET, but have no fear. The best time to see the full moon will be around 8:22 p.m. ET/5:22 p.m. PT, when it’s 99.7 percent illuminated.
Why should I care? The Flower Moon marks the midway point of this year’s annual full moon cycle, so yeah, it’s kind of a big deal.
