When you know, you know. At least that’s what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle say.
The newly engaged couple detailed their romance on-camera this morning at Kensington Palace and remembered the first time they met, because what’s a love story without a meet-cute?
The pair shared that they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend in July 2016 and met for a drink in London shortly thereafter. (Drinks? We expected more from you, Harry.)
Prince Harry remembered being taken aback by his wife-to-be when he first set eyes on her. “I was beautifully surprised when I walked into a room and there she was sitting there,” the sixth in line to the throne said.
During the couple’s engagement photo session earlier today, the prince also revealed he knew they were meant to be from “the first time [they] met.”
Markle was just as taken by Harry. She said they both felt the spark soon into their first date. “Very quickly into that, we said, ‘Well, what are we doing tomorrow? We should meet again.’”
Is it terrible to wonder how soon she started her Westminster Abbey wedding Pinterest board? *Asking for a friend.*
