Details on the Puzzling Guest List for Prince Charles's 70th Birthday Party
ICYMI: Prince Charles recently celebrated his 70th birthday at Clarence House, and no, I didn’t get an invite.
OK, so I wasn’t actually expecting to attend such a private event, but I doubt anyone would have noticed. Let’s put it this way: This guest list is so random that I could have pretended to be someone’s long-lost cousin and (probably) gotten away with it.
Don’t believe me? Here’s what you need to know about the surprising guest list for Prince Charles’s birthday bash.
All the key members of the royal family were there, including Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the host, Queen Elizabeth.
The Semi-Familiar Faces
Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike, attended the festivities, along with Freddie Windsor, his wife Sophie Winkleman, Gabriella Windsor and her fiancé, Tom Kingston.
Head-scratchers included two of Princess Charlotte’s godfathers, James Meade and Thomas van Straubenzee. Van Straubenzee’s brother, Charlie, also tagged along (why not?).
Rounding out the list was Hugh van Cutsem, and his wife, Rose, who are friends with William and Kate.
See what I mean? Hardly seems like a who’s who of Charles’s besties…
