Pink is loud and proud when it comes to her muscular quads, or should we say, "thunder thighs."
In her most recent Instagram photo, the "Try" singer is seen dominating the waves on her surfboard, wearing a black swimsuit and life vest. She wrote, "I always wondered why God gave me thunder thighs. It’s cause he knew I’d use them. #throwingbuckets #strongismygoal #joyful #wakesurfgirl #somebodysponsormealready"
The inspiring post prompted several followers to share how much they related to the mother of two. One user said, "SAME, Mama! Same! I can fit so many cats in my lap it’s UNreal." Another commenter added, "I love my thunder thighs because now that I am 62 I can truly appreciate how strong and powerful they are. I’m grateful!"
This isn't the first time that Pink has spoken up about accepting her body. In fact, one of her most memorable moments came in 2017, when she accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards. After explaining that her daughter, Willow Sage Hart, considered herself ugly, she revealed how she made an entire PowerPoint presentation of androgynous celebrities and rock stars. She then asked Willow what she thought her mother looked like.
After her daughter mentioned that she looked beautiful, Pink responded with, "Well, thanks. But when people make fun of me, that’s what they use. They say I look like a boy or I’m too masculine or I have too many opinions, my body is too strong."
The singer went on to explain the importance of being your authentic self without worrying about others' opinions. She continued, "I said to her, ‘Do you see me growing my hair?’ She said, ‘No, mama.’ I said, ‘Do you see me changing my body?’ ‘No, mama.’ ‘Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world?’ ‘No, mama.’ ‘Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world?’ ‘Yes, Mama.’ ‘OK! So, baby girl. We don’t change. We take the gravel and the shell and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.’"
This mama deserves a standing ovation for her confidence and brilliant parenting skills.
