When we think of Julie Andrews, three classic movies immediately come to mind: The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins and of course, The Princess Diaries. (“Goodbye, trolley people!”)
Now, at the age of 83, the beloved actress is about to become an action star. (Yep, you heard us.) She appears in the forthcoming movie Aquaman, in theaters December 21. No, you won’t see the former queen of Genovia swimming with Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) and the fishes of Atlantis. She’ll be lending her voice to a creature named Karathen.
“We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered,” said producer Peter Safran. Looks like they succeeded there.
We never expected to see (well, hear) Julie Andrews in a DC superhero film, but we’re totally here for it.
