If someone asked us what our favorite Ina Garten recipe was, we’d panic. How can you choose one?
Jennifer Garner recently penned an ode to the beloved Contessa for Bon Appétit, and while she agrees that choosing a favorite is an almost impossible task, hers is one she’s been making since her Alias days. Drumroll, please…
It’s Ina’s beef bourguignon.
We think we know why: While the classic French dish can take more than three hours to cook, Ina worked her magic to make a version that takes half the time, with better results. (The bacon and red wine don’t hurt either.) Garner said she’s now made it “countless times” for small dinner parties and large family gatherings alike, and each time it gets better.
Garner wisely said, “I wonder what other gems Ina has hiding in plain sight. Sometimes I go through and read her earlier books over again to come up with fresh ideas. Ina’s books, like her beef bourguignon, never ever disappoint.” Same.
