Magic! The New ‘Harry Potter’ 20th-Anniversary Jackets Reveal a Secret When They're All Together
ICYMI, the beloved children’s series Harry Potter is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (and damn, do we feel old). In honor of the occasion, Scholastic just revealed brand-new covers for all seven novels, and they’re completely mesmerizing.
The black-and-white illustrations, drawn by children’s author/illustrator Brian Selznick, feature major moments from the series and are topped with a jewel-toned title. But the coolest part? When placed side by side, they create a mural that follows the entire story. Magic. Take a look at the mural and a few of the individual covers below.
Time for their close-ups:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
And for all the HP purists (we see you), the original chapter-opening illustrations by Mary GrandPré are still inside. So you can chill.
The books are available for preorder from Scholastic now, but you’ll have to wait until they ship on June 26 to reread them...for the 11th time.
