Once upon a time, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was a bastard child and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) wasn’t his aunt. But in the Game of Thrones season seven finale, fans learned that the late Rhaegar Targaryen (Wilf Scolding) was actually Jon’s Aegon’s real dad. With the age-old question of his lineage solved, we figured we’d never see Rhaegar again…until now.

Rhaegar Targaryen

Scolding recently took to Instagram to share a selfie taken in front of a hotel in Belfast, Ireland, where much of GoT season eight is being shot. Thronies immediately speculated Scolding was in Belfast filming and he quickly deleted the photo. Suspicious, right?

Rhaegar was murdered during the Battle of the Trident (aka a long time before GoT’s TV plot), so it’s unlikely that he’d come back to life in the show’s final season. He could, however, be featured in a flashback sequence, or even one of Bran’s (Isaac Hempstead Wright) weird Three Eyed Raven memory scenes. Rhaegar could’ve become a White Walker with a plan to drink Jon Snow’s blood in hopes of coming back to life for all we know.

Hey, crazier things have happened on Game of Thrones.
