The New ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Finale Photos Are Here...but Where Is Khaleesi?!
HBO just released 15 new photos from the season seven finale of Game of Thrones, “The Dragon and the Wolf,” and although the episode title sounds like a German children’s fable, it'll be a far cry from a walk in the woods with Hansel and Gretel.
Our journey through the Seven Kingdoms last week was fraught with death, White Walkers and the long-awaited Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) ship. *Angels singing*
Snow and co trekked Beyond the Wall to catch a White Walker and succeeded...but not without a few traumatizing losses. R.I.P. Thoros of Myr (Paul Kaye), Viserion (Drogon's brother) and almost the King in the North himself, once again. On top of that, the Army of the Dead magically located some serious chains and resurrected Viserion from his frigid, watery grave. If you listen carefully, you can still hear the echo of the collective “Noooo!” heard 'round the world last Sunday night.
But not everything was tragically morbid. Dany, her to-die-for trench and Drogon saved the day by melting everything in their path. But then—the moment we've been waiting for—the Mother of Dragons finally let on she has the hots for Jon Snow when he miraculously arrived home safe and sound thanks to Benjen Stark (Joseph Mawle).
Meanwhile, Sansa (Sophie Turner) received a raven requesting her presence in King's Landing (no thanks) and sent poor Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) as her emissary. Arya (Maisie Williams) caught her big sis Sansa rummaging through her Buffalo Bill masks and in turn forced her to engage in some real, real talk. But enough about the past. Let's enjoy and savor these season seven GoT finale photos, because it's going to be a long time until we'll be able to do this again.
