Better binge-watch all ten seasons of Friends (again) ASAP, because the iconic TV show might be leaving Netflix in 2019.
Yep, the streaming service recently hinted that Friends may be getting the axe on January 1, which means those late-night marathons could soon come to an end. Just let that sink in.
The announcement may come as a surprise to many fans, considering the TV show has been on Netflix for four years. However, many believe the series will be included in AT&T’s upcoming streaming service, meaning it was only a matter of time before they broke the news (and our heart).
Of course, there’s still hope for the ’90s series to stay on Netflix. Ted Sarandos, chief content officer of Netflix, responded to the immediate backlash (which was swift and severe) by telling The Hollywood Reporter the show’s “departure is a rumor.” Although we don’t know what to believe, we’re not taking anything for granted.
BRB, queueing up episode one for (possibly) the last time…
