Is ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Coming to an End?

For the past 15 years, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has brought us countless scares, confessions and blooper reels. But is the daytime host, 60, thinking of hanging up her TV pantsuit…for good?

In a recent interview with The New York Times, DeGeneres revealed that she almost didn’t extend her contract through 2020. Prior to making her decision, the TV personality consulted her brother, Vance DeGeneres (who encouraged her to stay), and her wife, Portia de Rossi (who wanted her to walk away). How could you!?

“[Portia] gets mad when my brother tells me I can’t stop,” DeGeneres said.

De Rossi chimed in to defend her standpoint, saying, “I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity. There are other things she could tackle.”

The Scandal star went on to further explain herself, adding, “I don’t see the end of her show as her career ending.”

Needless to say, DeGeneres hasn’t made any final decisions. BRB, re-watching all 2,000-plus episodes of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
