The Final ‘Deadpool 2’ Trailer Proves Ryan Reynolds Is a Really Tough Interviewer
Cue “The Final Countdown,” because the last Deadpool 2 trailer just dropped.
The opening sequence is indistinguishable from any other explosion-filled action blockbuster...until we hear Deadpool’s (Ryan Reynolds) comfortingly sarcastic voice. (Ah, he gets us.)
This time around, Deadpool and his band of superhero misfits are up against Thanos (Josh Brolin), who basically looks like an IRL G.I. Joe. Knowing he’ll need some extra muscle to face off against Thanos, Deadpool does what any prospective employer would do: posts a job listing to LinkedIn.
The pickings are slim in Deadpool’s quest to build a “superduperhero” group. Some novice superheroes named Bedlam (Terry Crews), Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) submit their résumés, but Deadpool is reticent to welcome them into his crime-fighting gang. But when he meets Peter (Rob Delaney), a man with no powers to speak of other than a soothing voice and confident attitude, he’s sold.
But what would a Deadpool 2 trailer be if it didn’t impart some real-world knowledge? Before its close, we learn that while samurai swords are cool, they’re definitely not an optimal form of protection. The more you know, friends.
Deadpool 2 hits theaters on May 18.
