Netflix Dropped the Official Trailer for Season 2 of ‘The Witcher’ (And Yes, We Get More Henry Cavill)

Fear not, Henry Cavill fans. The second season of The Witcher is finally arriving and soon, our screens will be dominated by the British actor once again.

Netflix just dropped the official trailer for season two of the fantasy drama, and along with Cavill, we'll see the welcome return of other stars like Freya Allan, Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey and Royce Pierreson.

However, there are also a few new faces joining the show, including Bridgerton's Adjoa Andoh and Killing Eve star Kim Bodnia.

The new episodes are set to drop on December 17, and that date couldn't come any faster. Check out the gripping video below.

Newcomer Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones), who plays a boar-man named Nivellen, narrates the beginning of the trailer as he talks to Cavill's character, Geralt. “Something has changed, Geralt. The world's acting strange these days,” he says. The narration helps to set the tone for season two, as Nivellen says, “The North and South [are] at war. Monsters roaming when they should be hibernating. Maybe it's the end of days.”

To which Cavill's character comically responds, “I've lived through three supposed ‘end of days.’ It's all horsesh*t.” However, based on the trailer, it seems like this omen shouldn't be so quickly dismissed.

The action-packed series has been absent for almost two years now due to the coronavirus pandemic, which delayed production on the second season. However, the show has already been renewed for a third season.

The eight episodes of season two will pick up where the last season left off, and they will continue to be based around the series of Witcher books and short stories written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

We couldn't be more excited.
