1. Who Is Shay Mitchell's Boyfriend?
Answer: Matte Babel (duh). But who is this tall, dark and handsome mystery man? According to IMDB, he was born in Toronto, Canada in 1980 and is 39 years old. He graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario with a degree in sociology and communications. After college, Babel went on to work a number of gigs as a TV host on shows like Entertainment Tonight Canada, The Insider and Canada Sings (think American Idol meets America's Best Dance Crew). He even dabbled in acting with a few stints on the hit TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation.
According to his Instagram, Babel's more recently been involved with BÉIS, Mitchell's travel accessories brand, and DreamCrew, a "management company and entertainment group; producing film, television and special projects as well as overseeing Drake's professional career and business profile." Impressive resume aside, we're guessing his newest role as dad is his all-time favorite.
2. When Did They Start Dating?
Mitchell and Babel were first linked back in January 2017 (see adorable beach shot above). At the time, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the two had been together "for a few months." Since then, they've been extremely private, avoiding the paparazzi and remaining tight-lipped about their relationship.
3. Wait, They Have A Baby?! When Was She Born?
The 32-year-old You star announced the birth of her daughter on Sunday, October 20, 2019 with an adorable photo of her holding her newborn's hand. In a video posted to her YouTube series "Almost Ready", Mitchell revealed that she was in labor for 33 hours before welcoming her baby girl. "This is definitely the most intense experience of my life," she admits at the end of the video. "Matte and I are parents and I can't believe it. And we thought being pregnant was a journey. I'm realizing we have just begun."
4. What Is Their Daughter's Name?
Her name is Atlas Noa. On November 7, 2019, Mitchell revealed her daughter's travel-inspired name with a photo on Instagram captioning it: "In my 32 years of life I thought I had seen a lot of places, experienced a lot of things, met a lot of people and felt love...then came you."
5. Is This Their Only Child?
Yes. Atlas is the first child for both Mitchell and Babel. However, back in July 2019 during the first episode of her YouTube series, Mitchell opened up about suffering a miscarriage at 14 weeks in 2018. "When it happened, I was just completely blindsided by it," she revealed in the video. Mitchell waited until she was about six months along to share the news of her second pregnancy with the public.
6. Will They Get Married?
Though Mitchell and Babel are now a family of three, the pair haven't officially tied the knot. Could wedding bells be in their near future? Hard to tell, but we're positive little baby Atlas would make the most adorable flower girl.
