‘Sex Education’ Season 3 Trailer Teases New Romances, Secrets & Drama

Prepare for loads of awkward laughter because Sex Education is returning to Netflix for season three.

The streaming service just dropped the first official trailer for the all-new installment, which will consist of eight painfully funny episodes. Although there’s a small time jump since the season two cliffhanger—you know, when Otis (Asa Butterfield) spilled his love for Maeve (Emma Mackey) in a now-deleted voicemail—it appears nothing everything has changed for the students at Moordale Secondary School.

Based on the trailer, there are five key takeaways: 1. Otis has a new secret fling (who’s not Maeve). 2. Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam (Connor Swindells) are officially a couple. 3. The new head teacher (Jemima Kirkenew) is actually enforcing rules. 4. Jean (Gillian Anderson) is expecting a baby. Oh, and 5. Otis nearly breaks down every time someone mentions Maeve.

Other cast members include Aimee-Lou Wood, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Chaneil Kular, Simone Ashley, Mimi Keene, Tanya Reynolds, Mikael Persbrandt, Patricia Allison, Sami Outalball, Anne-Marie Duff, George Robinson, Chinenye Ezeudu, Alistair Petrie, Samantha Spiro, Rakhee Thakrar and Jim Howick.

Netflix’s official synopsis reads, “It’s a new year, Otis is having casual sex, Eric and Adam are official, and Jean has a baby on the way. Meanwhile, new headteacher Hope tries to return Moordale to a pillar of excellence, Aimee discovers feminism, Jackson gets a crush and a lost voicemail still looms. Prepare for commitment animals, alien phenomena, vulva cupcakes and much more of Madam Groff.”

Sex Education season three will hit Netflix on September 17, and we can’t wait.
