This Shipping Container Hotel May Be Tiny, but the Cool Factor Is Huge
Serious question: If your travel destination isn’t going to look amazing on the ’Gram, is it even worth going? Standard hotels are fine and all, but savvy travelers who seek slightly more innovative and unique accommodations can now experience eco-friendly living at the Flophouze Hotel in Round Top, Texas.
Made from old shipping containers, our friends at Curbed tell us that everything from the windows (salvaged from a school in Philadelphia) to the countertops (old bowling alley floors) have been upcycled to create the hipster chic hotel.
When it comes to entertainment, forget the usual TV and minibar. Here, guests can unwind with record players, vinyl collections, firepits and hammocks. And each unit comes with a kitchen and living room, perfect for snuggling up with a good book and some s’mores.
Guess it’s true what they say—the best things come in small packages.
