The New ‘Charlie Says’ Trailer Stars Prince Philip from ‘The Crown’ and Gilly from ‘Game of Thrones’

Call it the summer of Manson (or, def don’t): We’re getting three Charles Manson docudramas in 2019.

There’s the star-studded Quentin Tarantino flick Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the Hilary Duff-headlined The Haunting of Sharon Tate and this film: Charlie Says

With a brand-new trailer out this week, we were hard-pressed to place some of the headliners…until we took a closer look. A nearly unrecognizable Matt Smith (what would The Crown’s Prince Philip say about that beard, sir?!) and Hannah Murray (aka Gilly from Game of Thrones) are front and center though, as well as a few other big names.

Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford also stars, as well as Insurgent’s Suki Waterhouse, and Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick’s daughter, Sosie Bacon (13 Reasons Why).

The film centers on the three women who carried out the Manson murders, Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel and Susan Atkins, who remain under the cult leader’s spell while in isolated confinement. An unwitting graduate student who visits them tries to bring them back to their pre-summer of ’69 selves as they come to terms with their horrific crimes.

Prepare for Smith to give you all the heebie-jeebies as Manson when the movie premieres on May 10.

Summer of Manson movies? Pass the popcorn (and, inevitably, the sleepless nights), please.
