Prince Charles’s Latest Outing Holds a Very Special Meaning to Meghan Markle—Here's Why

Last year, Prince Charles surprised us all by getting into the fashion game and designing his own eco-friendly clothing line. Now, a year later, he’s teaming up with one of Meghan Markle's favorite designers, Stella McCartney, to explore her new sustainable materials.

Per a Clarence House Instagram post, the 72-year-old royal recently visited a special exhibition, called the Future of Fashion, which showcased the famous English designer’s “next-generation” materials, including vegan football boots, regenerative cotton and forest-friendly viscose. During the event, the Prince of Wales got a tour of the mobile exhibit and learned how the pieces were made.

The slideshow features images and videos of the duo exploring the exhibit, with McCartney looking stunning (and on-theme) in a green dress, while Charles rocked a grey suit and blue tie.

“The exhibition took place at @Kelvingrove_ArtGallery, which is the Glasgow location for #COP26 themed events this week including The Prince’s Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) led panel sessions, roundtables and sustainability showcases,” part of the caption read.

As we mentioned above, the designer is one of the Duchess of Sussex’s go-tos. In fact, in addition to designing her second wedding dress, McCartney and Markle have also built quite a friendship. “[Meghan] approached me and we worked on other things. She wore other pieces of mine and we had a friendship,” the designer told British Elle in 2018. “And then she asked me to do her second wedding dress. I was honored and I still am.”

The Duchess of Sussex would no doubt love this exhibit.
