Kale Ice Cream Is Officially a Thing in NYC
And it’s actually pretty tasty
We know, this whole kale thing has gotten way out of hand. But after you get your kale manicure, try a scoop of kale ice cream at By Chloe, the new West Village vegan café that will change the way you think about dessert. Hear us out…
Kale Cookies and Cream ice cream is the brainchild of 27-year-old head chef Chloe Coscarelli, and although we were seriously worried, we promise it doesn’t taste like someone stuck a bunch of blended kale in the freezer.
You can barely taste the kale--it’s sweet, indulgent, creamy and tastes almost exactly like real (kale-free) ice cream. Made with a combination of almond and coconut milk, the dairy- and gluten-free treat is sweetened with raw agave nectar, Madagascar vanilla and homemade Valrhona chocolate wafers.
By Chloe also offers Salted Vanilla Caramel, Roasted Banana Bourbon and Coffee Chia Chip ice cream for less adventurous eaters, but we say go kale.
