In its short existence, TikTok has given us so much. From Ikea furniture flips to kitchen organizing hacks, there always seems to be a video that inspires us to start a new home project. Still, trends come and go. Yet, there will always be one hashtag we’ll never tire of: #HouseKeepersOfTikTok. They’ve taught us everything from how to clean our dirty, finger-printed screens to how to magically remove gunk and grime from our kitchen sinks. After spending more time than we’d care to admit scrolling, we’re sharing five of the best hacks we’ve picked up from the housekeepers of TikTok.

1. USE A SWIFFER DUST PAD FOR A DUST-FREE SCREEN

When was the last time you cleaned your TV? Well, this TikToker shows us how to do it in no time. She starts by mixing two cups of water and ¼ a cup of rubbing alcohol in an empty spray bottle. Then, she takes a Swiffer duster to remove excess dust from the TV before spraying the mixture onto a microfiber clothnot directly on the screen—to wipe it down. Just make sure you’re using isopropyl alcohol, which is safe for most screens. (You could also use plain distilled water, according to Consumer Reports.) Oh, and while you’re at it, make sure you wipe gently, as some LCD screens can scratch easily.

2. SCRUB TOASTERS WITH BAR KEEPERS FRIEND

When it comes to cleaning the kitchen, our toasters are usually…completely neglected. But, thanks to this TikToker, we’re actually looking forward to making it gleam again. She starts by sprinkling a generous amount of Bar Keepers Friend on a rag. Then, she takes a damp microfiber cloth and dips it into the solution before scrubbing.

3. SKIP THE DRY CLEANERS & WASH CASHMERE AT HOME

If you haven’t tried this wool & cashmere shampoo by the Laundress, you’re seriously missing out. This TikToker provides a step-by-step tutorial of how to use this miracle solution on sweaters, blankets, hats and more for a dry-clean-worthy wash, every time. She starts by filling a bucket of cold water and applying the Laundress’ solution generously to the bin. Then, she gently washes the sweater in the solution before letting it sit for 10 minutes. After, she rinses thoroughly and lightly squeezes the fabric to remove any excess water (no twisting allowed, which can stretch and warp the material). Finally, she places the fabric on a clean, dry towel and rolls it horizontally before letting it air-dry (underneath a fan, if possible).

4. RESTORE BROWN SINKS WITH ‘CLR’

That stubborn discoloration on your sink is going to be a thing of the past after you try this two-step technique. This TikToker splashes a little CLR: Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover before scrubbing it with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to remove stuck-on dirt and grime. And when we tell you this hack is *magic*...you have to see it to believe it.

5. CLEAN DUSTY FANS WITH A PILLOW CASE

Our least favorite household item to clean? The ceiling fan. Not only is it hard to get up there and see just how bad the damage is, but we’re always met with dustballs to the face (and later, the floor). Luckily, this TikToker has a hack to take the dread out of dusting. All you do is take a pillowcase and wrap it tightly around the fan’s blade to clear the dust in one fell swoop. No muss, no fuss.
