Foam Foundation Is Every Bit as Magical as It Sounds
Everyone has that first big makeup memory—especially when it comes to foundation. For me, it started in the eighth grade when I dropped my birthday money on a MAC Studio Fix powder that, in retrospect, was several shades too dark. I coated a sponge in the compact and then gleefully smothered every inch of my skin with the stuff until I resembled one super-smooth blob. I felt so glamorous.
Since that first love affair with Studio Fix, no other foundation has made me feel so much excitement…until I tried Elizabeth Arden’s Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup. Yeah, it’s a foam.
Just like the hair product it’s named after, mousse makeup needs a vigorous shake before you dispense it into the palm of your hand. It comes out in a gloriously frothy tuft that is then applied like a face lotion. Just rub it in until it disappears (which doesn’t take much given how light and airy it is to begin with).
A single pump easily blanketed my face and softened any blotchiness and shadows but let my freckles peek through. The label claims it “looks like your own skin,” and we can attest that’s spot on. If you’ve become disillusioned with foundation because it’s too heavy or cakey, mousse makeup may be right for you. Not only is it fun to use, but it actually works. Exceedingly well.
Pump and smooth it over your face. No brushes. No sponges. No fuss. As my 14-year-old self would say, it’s the bomb.
