Any time I come across a beauty product that helps me cut down on the time it takes to get ready in the morning, I’m immediately interested—which is exactly why I was excited to try the Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 35 cream ($79; $55).

This under-eye cream is designed to offer anti-aging effects while also working as a concealer and a sunscreen, so it puts three steps of your beauty routine into one easy swipe. Since it’s 30 percent off with code EOSS30 at DermStreet RN, I'd say it’s the perfect time to share all of my thoughts after testing it over several weeks.

Colorescience

The Total Eye cream from Colorescience (the suncare brand behind the viral Face Shield Flex tinted sunscreen) supplies SPF 35 broad-spectrum protection from sun damage, along with skin-boosting ingredients like peptides, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid.

It comes in four different shades, so you have some options for which will best complement your skin tone. I have pretty light skin to begin with, and also wanted something that would be a bit lighter to really brighten the area under my eyes, so I chose the Fair option, but there’s also Medium, Tan and Deep. Whichever one you choose, though, know that a little goes a long way. You definitely don’t need to use a full pump of the product for complete under-eye coverage—something I learned on my first use, when I ended up with way too much on my face.

My Review of the Colorescience Total Eye SPF Cream

One of the things I love most about this product, which I’ve been using as the first step in my makeup routine, is the way it instantly brightens my dark circles. As someone who rarely gets a full, restful night’s sleep, I appreciate that it not only covered the purplish patches under my eyes, but decreased their puffiness a bit, too (as you can see above).

I haven’t noticed much in terms of anti-aging just yet, but it’s only been a few weeks. Since it’s formulated to firm and smooth skin, I expect I’ll notice a difference with more regular use.

One of the only downsides I’ve noticed with this product is that it isn’t quite as hydrating as other under-eye creams I’ve used. If my skin is feeling particularly dry in the morning, I’ll mix just a touch of a thicker cream in with it or layer moisturizer over top. Also, while the cooling metal applicator feels incredible—especially when my eyes are tired and puffy—it can be a little difficult to evenly spread the product without using too much pressure, so I’ll go in with a swipe or two of it, then use my fingers to blend.

Bottom Line: Is the Colorescience Total Eye SPF Cream Worth It?

What I Like

  • combines eye cream, concealer and sunscreen into one product
  • multiple shades available
  • conceals dark circles and helps with puffiness

What I Don't Like

  • could be more hydrating
  • a bit difficult to spread evenly with the applicator

Colorescience

Overall, I’m so happy I added the Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy SPF 35 cream to my beauty routine. It cuts down on time and the amount of products I have to apply to my face in the morning—and since it combines the cost of an eye cream, sunscreen and concealer, it actually ends up saving me money. So go ahead and snag one for yourself while you can still save 30 percent on it at DermStreet—you won't regret it.
