Prince Harry Sits for Extremely Rare Solo TV Interview with Hoda Kotb

Prince Harry wants to make sure the queen is safe at all times.

In a new exclusive interview with TODAY, the Duke of Sussex sat down with Hoda Kotb and discussed his most recent visit with Queen Elizabeth. As some may know, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle traveled to Europe to attend this year’s Invictus Games. On their way to the Netherlands last Thursday, the royal couple visited the queen at Windsor Castle, where she’s been residing since her COVID-19 diagnosis.

The duke said it was “great” to see her again, noting that she has “great form.”

The monarch has made a few public appearances during her recovery. The last gathering Her Majesty attended was a memorial service dedicated to her late husband, Prince Philip. Since then, she has made rare virtual appearances online.

Though he is living with his wife and two kids in the United States, Harry makes sure to check in on the queen and is concerned for her safety. “I’m just making sure that she’s, you know, protected and got the right people around her,” he shared with Kotb.

In March 2020, Markle and Harry stepped down from their royal roles and moved to California by way of Canada. The royal ended the interview by saying they’ve been welcomed with “open arms” and have a good home in Cali.

Harry also expressed interest in his children, Archie and Lilibet, meeting the queen. While he couldn't confirm his attendance for the queen's upcoming Platinum Jubilee, he does want them to meet their great grandmother at some point. “[I’m] trying to make it possible for them to meet her.”

Here’s to more reunions between Harry and the queen—and the rest of the royal family perhaps?
