It looks like Netflix is just as excited as we are about this new partnership with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The streaming platform's co-CEO, Reed Hastings, opened up about the multi-year deal for the first time while appearing on CNBC's Squawk Box.

He said, "It's gonna be epic entertainment—so excited about that deal. They're smart—they were shopping it around across all of the major companies, and I think we really put together the best complete package, and we're going to do a wide range of entertainment with them."

Hastings couldn't share specific details about what they were working on (bummer), but he added, "I think it'll be some of the most exciting, most viewed content next year."

Perhaps one of the biggest questions that surfaced after this announcement was whether or not Markle would take on any roles for their future projects. However, Hastings confirmed that the former Suits star would not be doing any acting.

"The real focus for them is on being producers and on building a production capacity, so that's the key thing," he explained. "They've developed a great eye for story, and we'll be working with them on that basis."

Co-CEO and Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos also issued a statement in September to reveal that he was "incredibly proud" of the couple for choosing to work with Netflix. He said, "Harry and Meghan have inspired millions of people all around the world with their authenticity, optimism and leadership. We're incredibly proud they have chosen Netflix as their creative home—and are excited about telling stories with them that can help build resilience and increase understanding for audiences everywhere."

When the partnership was first announced, Prince Harry and Markle released a joint statement, saying that their main focus would be "creating content that informs but also gives hope."

The statement read, "As new parents, making inspirational family programming is also important to us, as is powerful storytelling through a truthful and relatable lens. We are pleased to work with Ted and the team at Netflix whose unprecedented reach will help us share impactful content that unlocks action."

The multi-year deal, which is reportedly worth over $100 million, will include movies, documentaries, docuseries and children’s programming. We can't wait to see the brilliant content they come up with!
