Prince Harry Couldn’t Contain Himself When He Met a Newborn Baby Today

Prince Harry has baby fever and he doesn’t care who knows it.

The 34-year-old Duke of Sussex practiced his dad skills today during a visit to the Institute of Translational Medicine at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, England. Although he was there to tour the Scar Free Foundation Center for Conflict Wound Research, he couldn’t help but get distracted by a newborn baby.

Harry and baby James Chalmer’s meet-cute began when the prince was minding his own hospital tour business and James was cozied up in his mother’s arms. When Harry came upon the mother-son duo, his face lit up and he went into full dad mode.

Prince Harry rubbed baby James’s back with a sweet smile. James looked, well, confused because he’s just a little guy and isn’t a royal expert yet.

If you’re like us, then you probably can’t help but wonder if the dreamy look on Harry’s face means he and wife Meghan Markle are expecting a baby boy. Well, the 37-year-old Duchess of Sussex recently celebrated her baby shower in New York City. The décor and desserts were all pink and green, so it’s more likely Baby Sussex is a girl. The couple chose to keep the gender of their firstborn a secret, but Harry hasn’t been too secretive about wanting a girl.

Aside from his dad-to-be warm-up, Harry chatted with the brains behind the Scar Free Foundation during his visit. The initiative seeks to minimize the physical and psychological impact of scarring in armed service members who are injured in the line of service, as well as civilians hurt in terrorist attacks.

Better pack in those meaningful royal engagements now, Harry. Baby Sussex’s arrival is right around the corner.
