Between the plentiful Sephoras, K-beauty meccas, indie skin-care shops and, you know, the interwebs, New Yorkers have no shortage of places to pick up a new eyeliner or sheet mask. But you’re going to want to make room in your makeup bag, because Ulta Beauty—the cult-fave national chain—is finally planting its lipstick-bedecked flag in Manhattan.
If you’ve never stepped foot in an Ulta before, here’s a primer (get it?): The retailer, which already has nearby locations in Queens, the Bronx and Jersey City, stocks a mix of higher-end brands like MAC and Urban Decay, drugstore favorites like NYX and iT Cosmetics, emerging brands and its own in-house line. Massive selection aside, fans love the megastore for its awesome perks: Think crazy-good sales, gifts with purchase and a killer rewards program.
In addition to a boatload of products, the Upper East Side shop will also house a full-service salon (in case you want to get some highlights to go with that texturizing spray), a Benefit brow bar and facial treatments from Dermalogica and Skin Laundry.
As if you need any more incentive to go, the first 100 guests through the door each day opening weekend (November 10 through 12) will nab a complimentary product and discounts on services. Now if you’ll excuse us, we have a medicine cabinet to fill to overflowing.
