I am in no way, shape or form embarrassed to say that I tore through the entire first season of Tidying Up with Marie Kondo in one sitting. Guess what? It was utterly joy sparking. So much so that I immediately lit the incense and KonMari-ed my clothing, folding everything I wanted to keep in tiny tri-folded packages. But what do you do when you’ve organized every drawer, closet and pantry?

For me, the answer was my beauty collection. As a beauty editor, I have a lot of products. Serums I haven’t touched in weeks. Foundation shades that just don’t match. Lip balms that have been in my purse since who only knows when.

The whole process was eye-opening, as I was forced to look at my daily routine in a new, essentials-only light. What did I absolutely need or love, and what was simply taking up prime real estate on my bureau? Here are the 11 products I dubbed joy sparking.

No Matter How Much My Skin-Care Routine Changes, I’ll Always Remain Loyal to This Product

dr roebucks tassie
Sephora

Dr. Roebuck’s Tassie Anti-pollution Serum

I walk about a mile through NYC to and from work every day, so I anti-pollution products are my jam. This one is lightweight and packed with antioxidants, so I feel like I'm feeding my skin with a super-powered green smoothie every morning.

dr loretta eye gel
Dermstore

Dr. Loretta Tightening Eye Gel

I credit my lack of crow’s feet (at almost 30 years old) to this stuff. It’s not greasy or too heavy and has an immediate cooling effect.

one love organics skin dew
Dermstore

One Love Organics Skin Dew Coconut Water Cream

I have fairly dry skin, so I'm always on the lookout for moisturizers that leave my skin soft, without looking overly greasy. No matter how much of this stuff I slather on, it never makes me oily. And the texture is like butter.

uma ultimate brightening face oil
Saks Fifth Avenue

Uma Oils Ultimate Brightening Face Oil

If I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, this is the only beauty product I’d need. It hydrates, brightens and nourishes my skin, and the scent is super-calming.

grandelash md
Ulta

Grande Cosmetics Grandelash-md Lash-enhancing Serum

I’ve been using this for almost a year straight and get stopped mid-sentence all the time by people asking if my lashes are real. I recommend it to everyone and have gotten approximately 30 people hooked. You’ve been warned.

it cosmetics cc cream
Ulta

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Cc+ Cream With Spf 50+

This CC cream blurs imperfections, covers my SPF needs and adds another dose of hydration.

nudestix hey honey
Ulta

Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color In Hey, Honey

I have never met a highlighter I didn’t like. I just like this one the best. It creates a super-dewy (never sparkly) glow that’s perfect for every day, season and occasion.

vapour lip gloss
Credo

Vapour Velvet Lip Gloss

This makes the most amazing blush, lip stain and eye color. Think of it more as a balm, not a gloss; it doesn’t leave your skin super shiny or sticky.

Buy It ($25)

nyx micro brow pencil
Ulta

Nyx Professional Makeup Micro Brow Pencil

Comparable to the Anastasia Beverly Hills version, but much less expensive. Which is a good thing, because I go through these like water.

Sephora

Milk Makeup Kush High Volume Mascara

The combo of the GrandeLASH-MD serum and this extreme-volumizing mascara creates a falsie effect without flaking or smudging throughout the day.

It keeps my makeup in place all day and smells like running through a rose garden.
