Queen Elizabeth Wishes Prince William a ‘Very Happy Birthday’

It’s been a major couple of days for Prince William. Not only did the Duke of Cambridge celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday, but he’s also ringing in his birthday today.

On Monday, the father of three officially turned 39 years old and made sure to thank fans for all of the love he received on his special day. “Thank you for all the birthday wishes and kind messages,” William captioned an image of himself on his shared IG account with Kate Middleton. See the post below.

Of course, the comments section quickly filled up with well-wishes from followers. One user wrote, “Couldn't have wished for a better future King! Happy birthday,” while another added “Happy birthday to the most handsome Prince I know. We wish you all the best this world could offer. We love and support you!” (She also shared a series of Images in a separate tribute on Twitter.)

And these Instagram users weren’t the only ones celebrating with William. His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, also gave her grandson a shoutout on social media. In her post, which is featured on the royal family's IG Story, she wrote, “Wishing the Duke of Cambridge a very happy birthday today.” The message also included a throwback snap of the duke with Kate Middleton and their three kids attending Her Majesty’s annual Trooping the Colour.

Unfortunately, unlike last year, Middleton didn’t share any new portraits of her hubby in honor of the special day. ICYMI: Ahead of his 38th birthday and Father’s Day, the Duchess of Cambridge released a handful of never-before-seen photos of Will playing outside with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Happy birthday William!
