April begins on a crescendo. The full Libra moon, ruled over by a very juicy Venus in Taurus, is reminding us of all that good balanced connection has to offer. So, while the 1st may be about making fools of each other, it’s all good natured this year.
The real story in April is what happens with Mars. Mars is our ability and drive to move after what we want, and when Mars enters Aries on the 9th, it’s full throttle. Aries is about impulses and inspiration, taking action the moment the desire hits. Aries is Mars’s home sign; normally they go swimmingly together, but this year and for a few to come, Neptune and Saturn are houseguests. Mars will have to navigate these two, first with Neptune on the 12th tempting him with delusions of grandeur and then Saturn on the 19th demanding to know who made this mess.
Saturn and Mars together are no joke, and their mutual contact can show up in tricky ways—think a pandemic-induced global shutdown when they met up in Aquarius in March 2020. In personal life, they take the form of roadblocks and slowdowns. Aries doesn’t take things lying down, so there may be significant frustrations around this time. Lean into Taurus’s grounded vibes when the Sun enters the bull’s sign on the 19th and let things take the time they take.
There's a spicy Aries new moon on the 17th that doesn’t stutter. Whatever your new vibe is, own it. Respect yourself and everyone else will too. The new moon happens atop the asteroid Chiron the healer. Chiron has been bringing the medicine of showing up as your whole self since its entrance into Aries in 2018, but its time there is winding down. By midsummer, Chiron will leave Aries for Taurus, and this new moon is a chance to integrate all you have learned about your unique spark.
