Prince William & Kate Middleton Make *Major* Change to Their IG Page

Kate Middleton and Prince William just made a major (yet subtle) change to their social media accounts, and somehow we almost missed it.

On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced that they have officially launched a joint YouTube channel. The couple shared the news in a video collage on IG. “Better late than never—we're now on @YouTube Link in bio,” the duo captioned the post.

However, while we were so focused on the fact that we have another platform to keep up with our favorite royal couple, we almost missed the tiny change to their Instagram account. Earlier this morning, when we were reporting on Middleton’s latest virtual engagement, the shared IG account was still named @kensingtonroyal. (See the old name below.)

A few hours later, we noticed the IG handle had been changed to @dukeandduchessofcambridge.

While we don’t know for sure, we’re assuming the reason for this change is to create a uniformity among this account and their new YouTube channel. It’s also important to note that their Twitter handle has not been changed from @KensingtonRoyal.

This isn’t the first difference we’ve seen on the pair’s social media in recent months. After Prince Philip’s passing, the duo immediately paid tribute to the late duke by replacing their main photo with one of Philip. Two weeks later, they returned their pages back to normal.

We’ll be paying close attention to these social media pages over the next few days.
