Prince William & Kate Middleton Just Embarked on Their First-Ever Royal Train Tour

Fasten your seatbelts, ladies and gents. Prince William and Kate Middleton just embarked on the first royal tour of its kind.

Introducing the Royal Train, which is a special form of transportation reserved only for the family’s most senior members. For the next few days, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will live on the coach and stop in a variety of cities across England, Scotland and Wales.

The goal is to honor those who are working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic, all while protecting Prince William and Middleton from unwanted exposure.

The caption to an IG post about the tour read, “The Duke and Duchess are off! This evening, The Duke and Duchess departed on the #RoyalTrainTour to pay tribute to the inspiring work of those who have gone above and beyond to support communities across England, Scotland and Wales.”

The royal couple kicked things off yesterday at Euston Station in London, where they chatted with transport workers about how they’ve adapted to social distancing.

Middleton also wrote a special message on a service information board and even let Prince William add his signature. (You know, for good measure.)

“Thank you to transport workers everywhere for keeping the country moving throughout this difficult year,” it read. “Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!”

All we have to say is…All aboard!
