It all started earlier this year when Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette was still airing on ABC, though it was a strictly digital fling. Lovato shared a cheeky post on her Instagram Story and wrote, “Mike, I accept your rose.”
According to Johnson, the move stood out to him. “It made me feel sexy,” he told E! News. “It made me feel good. It’s pretty awesome; it’s pretty cool, I’m not gonna deny it.”
After Johnson was kicked off Bachelor in Paradise, he started flirting with Lovato on social media and even commented on a risqué photo of the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer, writing, “Look at me like that again…Love yaself.” The actress responded to his comment with two flirty emojis.
Of course they have. Earlier this month, an inside source told E! News that while Demi and Mike already went on a date, they’re taking it slow.
“I’m just getting to know Demi. I think she’s absolutely fantastic, and I don’t want no pressure on her, no pressure on me. We’re just trying to get to know each other,” he told the outlet. “That’s all.” Baby steps, people.
Although we don’t know when (if ever) the couple will step into the spotlight, Johnson confirmed that they’re in an exclusive relationship when asked if he’s seeing any other women.
“No, it’s just Demi. That’s the only person I’m talking to,” he said.
Answer: Probably. ABC didn’t say why the role was given to Peter Weber, and not Johnson. However, it’s practically an unspoken rule that the network isn’t allowed to cast anyone who is dating someone outside the show, so it’s very possible that Lovato is to blame.
