Smiling photo ops aside, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge saw firsthand the effects of climate change in Pakistan when they encountered a melting glacier during their current royal tour.
There, according to People, they were briefed by Pakistani hydrometeorological and glacier expert Dr. Furrukh Bashir of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Per their spokesman, Will and Kate's visit to the glacier was meant to show the “very real consequences of global warming, and its devastating effects on our planet.”
We'd be remiss if we didn't mention Kate's luxe, earth-toned look. For the occasion, the duchess opted for a brown A-line midi skirt, leather vest and flat suede boots. The vibe is outdoorsy chic, and a bit more androgynous than we're used to seeing her step out in.
