Kate Middleton Pulls Out Her Classic Parenting Move (& a Stunning Pantsuit) for Today’s Important Outing
During the event, the Duke of Cambridge publicly addressed the Caribbean-British community following the controversy they faced on their Caribbean tour back in March. (While the couple was on their official trip, they faced growing backlash regarding the British monarchy’s authority in Caribbean territories.)
Not only did the duke and duchess send a very important message (more on that later), but Middleton also used her go-to parenting move that we know all too well.
During the outing, Middleton was seen bending down to eye level and talking to a small child. This particular move (which she displays with her own children) is used to foster open communication on an equal playing field and create a comfortable environment for the child.
Aside from seeing Middleton enter full-on parenting mode, we also got a chance to eye her stunning outfit for the event. The royal wore a white pantsuit designed by Alexander McQueen (per Harper’s Bazaar), paired with a matching top, stiletto heels and a Mulberry handbag. She accessorized the look with long gold and teal earrings, which were designed by a Black woman-owned brand called Chalk.
The royal couple were in attendance for the statue unveiling and to honor Windrush Day, a holiday that marks the day the Empire Windrush ship brought Caribbean immigrants to the U.K. in 1948. During his speech, William shared that their previous Caribbean trip allowed them to “reflect” and “learn.”
“This is something that resonated with Catherine and me after our visit to the Caribbean earlier this year,” he said, according to People. “Our trip was an opportunity to reflect, and we learned so much. Not just about the different issues that matter most to the people of the region, but also how the past weighs heavily on the present.”
Very well said.
