Here’s How Kate Middleton Actually Celebrated Her 39th Birthday

Kate Middleton might have rung in her birthday while in lockdown, but those closest to her made sure that it was a day to remember.

On Saturday, the Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 39th birthday at her country home of Anmer Hall in Norfolk (due to strict lockdowns in place across the United Kingdom amid the coronavirus pandemic). Luckily for us, we’re finally getting some details on the sweet way Prince William and their three kids honored Middleton. According to People, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, threw their mother a birthday tea party. Of course, the tea was prepared by the Duke of Cambridge himself.

“At the end of the day, she's in training to be a future Queen, but honestly you would never know it,” a source previously told the outlet. “If you go round to her house, you get a cup of tea, and it's often William who makes it! It's a lovely, welcoming house, not a fancy, stuffy palace in any way.”

In addition to the exclusive tea party, the Kensington Palace Instagram, as well as Clarence House (the office of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles) and the Royal Family (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip), also sent their well-wishes to the 39-year-old mother of three on IG.

“Thank you for your kind wishes on The Duchess’ birthday,” the Cambridges captioned their post which featured Middleton waving while sporting a mask. “Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.”

Although this year was “different,” it seems like Kate still had a wonderful birthday.
