Kensington Palace Shares Photo & Message on Kate Middleton's Birthday: ‘Birthdays Have Been Very Different’

Happy birthday, Kate Middleton! The Duchess of Cambridge celebrated her 39th birthday over the weekend. And, not surprisingly, she received a ton of well-wishes from her family and friends.

On Saturday, members of the royal family made sure to mark Middleton’s special day with heartfelt messages on social media. In their post on Kensington Palace’s official Instagram account, Prince William and Middleton acknowledged the difficulty of celebrating this year while the coronavirus pandemic affects not only the U.K., but the rest of the world.

“Thank you for your kind wishes on The Duchess’ birthday,” the duo captioned the post which featured Middleton waving while sporting a mask. “Birthdays have been very different in recent months, and our thoughts continue to be with all those working on the front line at this hugely challenging time.”

In addition to the Kensington post, Clarence House (the office of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles) and the Royal Family (Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip) also sent their well-wishes to the 39-year-old mother of three on IG.

“Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge!” Clarence House captioned a solo shot of Middleton from over the summer.

The 94-year-old monarch and her hubby shared a sweet photo of the duchess, as well as one of her standing with the queen at a flower show last year. “Wishing The Duchess of Cambridge a very happy birthday today!” they wrote alongside the slideshow.

And while there has been no official word on how Kate rang in her big day, we assume she spent it with Will and their three kids (probably baking a homemade cake).

Happy belated, Kate.
