Kate Middleton Stepped Out in the *Other* Iconic Dress from Meghan Markle’s Wedding

A lot has happened since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s wedding (ahem, Archie). Even still there’s a certain dress that stands out in our mind. No, it’s not Markle’s custom Givenchy wedding gown or her Stella McCartney reception dress (obviously we think about those on the reg, too). It was the navy-and-white polka-dot Alessandra Rich dress that Markle’s Suits co-star Abigail Spencer wore to the royal wedding.

Well, just days away from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s first wedding anniversary, Kate Middleton stepped out in the same crepe de chine pleated dress for a solo visit to Bletchley Park in Milton Keynes, England, yesterday to see a D-Day exhibition.

The 37-year-old Duchess of Cambridge styled the dress with dusty blue suede heels, a midnight blue Smythson clutch, pearl drop earrings and a gold brooch to mark the 75th anniversary of the day troops landed in Normandy.

But this wasn’t the first time Middleton has donned the stylish (K) midi dress. She also wore it in Prince Charles’s 70th birthday portraits. Remember those?

Even with the distraction of Prince Louis’s chubby cheeks, we’d recognize that exaggerated collar anywhere.

In addition to the duchess and Spencer, celebs like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kelly Ripa, Daisy Ridley and Christie Brinkley have also worn the Alessandra Rich design since it debuted in her spring/summer 2017 collection.

Unfortunately for us, the polka-dot dress sold out almost immediately. But there is a similar version with a black collar available on sale for $1,566, if you're in the mood to splurge.
