Headed back to school (or work)? We're betting your go-to bag could use an upgrade, and if so, you need to check out Ciara's new accessories brand, Dare to Roam. Leave it to the "Level Up" singer to take classic backpacks to new heights, launching a series of antimicrobial (!) bags that fuse function and fashion.
The collection of backpacks, lunch boxes and organizers have a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, but when you unzip them, you'll find plenty of pockets and zippered pouches to keep all of your essentials in place. (Seriously—even the "mini" backpack is roomy enough to tote a 13-inch laptop!)
So, what inspired the line? Well, besides giving us another reason to blow our credit cards, the singer wanted to equip young professionals, college students and parents with a purposeful shopping experience. "Giving back to communities is such an important part in everything that I do. When starting Dare To Roam, this was as much a priority for me as it was to create high-quality, functional products that helped consumers," Ciara said. As a result, three percent from each purchase goes toward the Why Not You Foundation, a nonprofit she and her husband, Russell Wilson, founded to support children's health and education.
Oh, and about that antimicrobial bit: Every piece features a special treatment that uses silver ions to create a barrier that reduces the spread of bacteria, mold and fungi (um, score).
