How Will Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Spend Their First Thanksgiving in Their New California Home?

First, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior royals. Then they moved to Canada before permanently settling down in the wealthy Santa Barbara neighborhood of Montecito, California. And now, the royal couple will endure another milestone “first” during the upcoming holiday season.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are preparing to celebrate their first Thanksgiving together in the states. So, what’s on the itinerary?

We’re not entirely sure, since it’s Prince Harry’s first official Turkey Day as a U.S. resident. However, Markle will likely introduce him to her family traditions, including an overly filling feast.

Based on past holiday celebrations, there’s a good chance turkey will be on the menu. Markle previously documented her Thanksgiving dinner on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig. She even shared a now-deleted photo of herself posing next to a cooked bird, along with the caption: “Oh, that time I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey! The question is, can I do it again? The pressure is on!”

Prince Harry and Markle may also choose to volunteer like they’ve done in the past. For example, the couple recently helped Project Angel Food deliver free meals to people suffering from serious illnesses.

As for the guest list at home, we expect the royal couple to keep it small due to the coronavirus pandemic. Attendees will likely include the Duke and Duchess of Sussex (duh) and their 1-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. We wouldn’t be surprised if Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, makes an appearance, since she currently lives in their guest house.

Perhaps Prince Harry and Markle will pencil in a Zoom call with the entire royal family? Wishful thinking, we know.
