Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Share Rare Message on Archewell Site in Support of Ukrainian People

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle just took to their Archewell site to share a very important message.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are speaking up in support for the people of Ukraine as Russian troops have begun to invade and attack the country. While international officials, like U.S. President Joe Biden, have enacted sanctions on Russia in an effort to stop the strikes, the situation has only escalated, causing many citizens of Ukraine to quickly leave the country.

Now, to show their support for Ukrainians, Prince Harry and Markle made a post to their Archewell site, which was titled, “We Stand with the People of Ukraine.” The update, posted yesterday afternoon, included a note that said, “Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and all of us at Archewell stand with the people of Ukraine against this breach of international and humanitarian law and encourage the global community and its leaders to do the same.”

This is not the first time the couple has used their site to show their support for other countries.

Last August, the pair made a post that addressed Afghanistan, the earthquake in Haiti and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, with a call to action that said, “It’s easy to find ourselves feeling powerless, but we can put our values into action—together. To start, we encourage you to join us in supporting a number of organizations doing critical work. We also urge those in positions of global influence to rapidly advance the humanitarian dialogues that are expected to take place this fall at multilateral gatherings such as the U.N. General Assembly and the G20 Leaders’ Summit. As an international community, it is the decisions we make now—to alleviate suffering among those we know and those we may never meet—that will prove our humanity.”

We always appreciate Harry and Meghan's powerful words.
