Like any grandparent, Prince Charles is looking forward to the arrival of his fourth grandchild, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby. But during a recent speech, the 69-year-old heir to the throne revealed he has a specific worry surrounding the bun in the oven’s arrival.
The Prince of Wales told a group of government and business officials during his royal visit to Ghana that he fears for his grandchild’s arrival in this “damaged and destroyed world,” according to The Telegraph.
“I am about to have another grandchild actually. I suspect quite a few of you may too have grandchildren or will do soon. It does seem to me insanity if we are going to bequeath this completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world to them,” he said.
Conservation has always been central to Prince Charles’s agenda, but with the arrival of yet another grandchild it seems he’s doubling down on his efforts.
