Meghan Markle Channels Queen Elizabeth in a Bright Yellow Dress

Meghan Markle is saying ta-ta to subdued neutrals and taking a page out of Queen Elizabeth’s sartorial playbook for a change.

After rocking blush pink and crème to basically every outing as a newlywed, the Duchess of Sussex stepped out today wearing a bright yellow Brandon Maxwell shift dress that looked straight out of Queen Liz’s colorful closet.

The royal fashionista opted for the bright hue while attending the “Your Commonwealth” Youth Challenge reception with Prince Harry at the Marlborough House in London. The event celebrates young leaders across the Commonwealth, a cause close to her heart.

So why did the duchess settle on such a bold color after wearing neutrals all this time? One theory: Meg may have been toning it down at recent engagements where the queen was in attendance. But since Queen E didn’t RSVP yes to the “Your Commonwealth” event, her new bestie was free to don a commanding color.

Hey, we love a lady who plans her outfits to match her grand-MIL.
